About:

The Initiative was founded and is led by former senior U.S. government officials.

Objective:

The Initiative’s primary goal is to serve as a bipartisan forum for officials and executives to identify and advance economic security policies for the next U.S. administration and Congress. We will pursue this goal by:

  • Fall 2024: Hosting off the record conversations between experts from government, industry, and academia in order to identify key policy priorities for Republicans and Democrats. Initiative experts will use these conversations to identify areas for bipartisan consensus.

  • November 2024: Briefing the Presidential Transition Team and incoming members of Congress on key findings. The Initiative will forge innovative policy partnerships between the Transition Team, legislative branch, and other senior officials, industry executives, and academic experts.

  • December 2024: Hosting a one-day conference that convenes the ESI expert network to discuss objectives and challenges for key economic security issues, to include trade controls, investment screening, supply chain challenges, and multilateral alliances.

  • January 2025: Publishing a key findings report that outlines a bipartisan roadmap for economic security policies and legislation in 2025 and 2026.
